WSA 2021

On 23 October, the World Soundtrack Awards Concert & Ceremony take place at Opera Ghent. A night to remember, honouring film music performed by the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Dirk Brossé. Max Richter is this year’s guest of honour and Eleni Karaindrou is awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Also music by Bryce Dessner, Discovery of the Year 2020, is performed live on stage.

After a year of absence, the film music concert returns! The 22nd of October centers on film music by the Great Greek Composers. Besides the scores composed by Eleni Karaindrou for Theo Angelopoulos’ films, music of Evanthia Reboutsika is performed by the excellent Brussels Philharmonic.

The WSA Film Music Days present an interesting variety of Talks & Masterclasses. Max Richter, Daniel Pemberton, Austin Wintory and Nainita Desai talk about their careers at the Composers Talk, the music labels Pool Needle and Sonhouse Records are launched and Natalie Holt presents a Film Music Seminar.
