Student access to WSA Film Music Days

Anyone who wants to make it in show business knows how important it is to keep your finger on the pulse. Film music is no different. Therefore, Film Fest Gent presents its WSA Film Music Days as a platform to exchange ideas and keep up to date. Join us for the WSA Film Music Days and experience the best of film music during our symphonic film music concerts and indulge in numerous talks, panel discussions and creative partnerships. As such, you get a glimpse behind the scenes of the film music industry.

What are the WSA Film Music Days?

In short, there are two main parts to the WSA Film Music Days. On the one hand, there are the concerts, including a thematic film music concert, and of course the annual World Soundtrack Awards.

On the other hand, there are the WSA Talks & Masterclasses. These networking events are for both young and established international film (music) professionals to gain insight into new developments, to be part of inspiring discussions and to meet colleagues in the field. The yearly gathering of composers, directors, producers, sound professionals, sound designers, and students in the area of cinema and television is the ideal opportunity to celebrate the art of film music, network, learn and scrutinize the current state of the industry.

For students especially this can be a great opportunity to make new connections and broaden horizons. Each year, one day is wholly tailored to students: a unique industry programme targeted towards future film & film music professionals. Our masterclasses, workshops and matchmaking give students the opportunity to learn, listen and network.

The complete programme will be announced in September 2024.
