This year's edition of the Film Music Seminar will not only focus on film music but also on sound. World-renowned composer Carter Burwell and sound designer Skip Lievsay are the perfect team to talk about how music and sound can be combined. The duo works closely together with the Coen Brothers.

Some highlights of the 18th World Soundtrack Awards

The annual World Soundtrack Awards have been given out during the 45th edition of Film Fest Gent in Belgium tonight. The winners of the 18th WSAwards include Jóhann Jóhannsson, Ramin Djawadi, Kendrick Lamar, Rutger Reinders, Tamar-kali, Laurent Eyquem, Logan Nelson and Philippe Sarde, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2020, Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Academy celebrates the 20th anniversary of the World Soundtrack Awards. Come and celebrate with us on Saturday 24 October 2020!

The 19th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards will take place on Friday 18 October 2019.

During the 18th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards, we had the honour to welcome internationally acclaimed composers Carter Burwell, Nicholas Britell and Philippe Sarde. Enjoy some of the most marvelous performances by Brussels Philharmonic under the baton of maestro Dirk Brossé!

Young international film music talent will have the chance to win the highly sought after SABAM Award for the Most Original Composition by a Young International Composer. This award was created by the World Soundtrack Academy and is worth € 2.500. The compositions of the three finalists will be performed by Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by maestro Dirk Brossé, during the 19th World Soundtrack Awards on 18 October 2019.

The “InMICS Composers Lab” is an essential component of the InMICS master’s programme and offers students the unique opportunity to participate in a series of intensive masterclasses, workshops and training sessions given by renowned professionals.

InMICS is dedicated to students, who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (or equivalent), highly skilled, as well as individual, creative, critically aware, innovative and professional in their approach.
