We added three more masterpieces to the already amazing line-up of our concert '2001 and Beyond: a Symphonic Odyssey': 'Starship Troopers' (Basil Poledouris), 'Mission to Mars' (Ennio Morricone) and the incredible Black Mirror-episode 'USS Callister' (by former World Soundtrack Discovery of the YearDaniel Pemberton).

The 50th birthday of Stanley Kubrick's groundbreaking masterpiece '2001: A Space Odyssey' is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the amazing scores of films taking place in space. '2001 and Beyond: A Symphonic Odyssey': explores the musical richness of different generations of composers who gave their own sound to traveling through the universe. The concert also brings a piece of cosmic film music history to life, with an emphasis on the great composers of the seventies, eighties and nineties of last century, complemented by work by contemporary colleagues.

We already announced some space classics such as 'Star Wars', 'Star Trek', 'Alien', 'The Black Hole', 'Solaris' and 'The Martian'. Now we add 'Starship Troopers' (Basil Poledouris), 'Mission to Mars' (Ennio Morricone) and the incredible Black Mirror-episode 'USS Callister' (Daniel Pemberton) to the list.

Also included onto the programme, is Alex North's original score for '2001: A Space Odyssey'; a score that Kubrick replaced at the very last minute by existing classical music from, amongst others, Johann Strauss.
