The WSAwards Industry Day is the place to be for young composers, film-makers and professionals from the film (music) industry to learn, debate and network. If you want to develop your expertise and know-how, be sure to mark 17 October 2016 in your calendar!

LEARN

National and international professionals and representatives from the industry give a series of specific introductions, including:

You can also follow panel discussions with prominent, international professionals and composers about these hot topics:

Speakers include composers Ryuichi Sakamoto ('The Revenant'), Jeff Beal ('House of Cards'), Karsten Fundal ('Shadow World'), Frans Bak ('The Killing'), Jean-Paul Wall ('The Team'), John Lunn ('Downtown Abbey'), Sioen ('Marsman') and Steve Willaert ('Eigen Kweek'), and industry professionals Wim Coryn, Patrick Ager, Luc Gulinck, Doreen Ringer-Ross, Jana Davidoff, Beth Krakower and Maggie Rodford.

Moderators are Patrick Duynslaegher (Artistic Director Film Fest Gent) and Dr Vasco Hexel (Royal College of Music, London).

3rd Character Project

This project is an initiative originally created by the Aubagne International Film Festival and SACEM. The project aims to enable meetings between emerging composers and duos of directors and producers, when a composer is still to be found for a film project in development. Read more.

The projects are: 'Upsantan' by César Diaz, 'Coureur' by Kenneth Mercken and 'When their fiction became reality' by Bram Cartigny. Check out the descriptions here.
