Renowned film composer Trevor Jones will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 26th World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert, the closing event of Film Fest Gent’s WSA Film Music Days 2026 (8-10 Oct).

The annual musical dream date between Film Fest Gent and VIERNULVIER kicks off with harpist Mary Lattimore on Thursday, October 8. With a brand new score for Kelly Reichardt's Old Joy, the concert promises to be just as special as the 2006 classic itself. This concert is part of the 2026 WSA Film Music Days (October 8 - October 10).

Film Fest Gent is proud to announce the three finalists of the 2026 WSA Film Music Composition Contest: Yeakun Yoo (South Korea), Lidia Pozo Pérez (Spain) and Xabier Doural García (Spain) have been selected for their original symphonic scores for an excerpt from Ryan Murphy & Evan Romansky's TV show Ratched (2020). The winner of the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer Powered by Vienna Synchron Stage will be announced during the World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert on 10 October 2026.

Film Fest Gent proudly presents Philip Glass: Music for Film, featuring comprehensive highlights from the renowned composer’s career in cinema, performed by the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Dirk Brossé. While there have been countless performances, recordings and releases of Glass’s works, this is the first time that an entire album is devoted to new studio recordings of his original film scores, including several scores that have never been recorded before.
