Carposers is coming to Film Fest Gent 29 Sep 2025
For the 25th anniversary of the World Soundtrack Awards, film photographer Kris Dewitte is dusting off his iconic Carposers series. Sixteen years after its world premiere in Japan, the exhibition is on display in Ghent for the first time. From 8 to 19 October, a selection of the series can be viewed free of charge at the Film Fest Café.

Four screen music organisations work together to curate WSA Public Choice and WSA Game Music Awards longlists 26 Jun 2026
Voting for the 2026 WSA Public Choice Award and the WSA Game Music Award is now officially open. Starting from this edition, the longlists for these World Soundtrack Awards will be curated by four organisations from the screen music industry. This year: the Composers Diversity Collective (CDC), the UK & European Guild of Music Supervisors (GMS), the Alliance for Women Film Composers (AWFC) and the International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA).

European Composer & Songwriting Alliance (ECSA) receives this year’s WSA Industry Award from Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Academy. This award recognises ECSA’s work in making the (screen) music industry more fair and transparent.

Film Fest Gent welcomes Hildur Guðnadóttir as Guest of Honour at the 26th World Soundtrack Awards 08 May 2026
Film Fest Gent is proud to welcome Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir as Guest of Honour at the 26th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards. Thanks to her virtuosity, versatility and originality, Guðnadóttir has carved out a unique place for herself within the contemporary music scene. She is known for her work on films such as Joker, TÁR, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, and the HBO series Chernobyl. She has previously been honoured by the World Soundtrack Academy as Television Composer of the Year (2019) and Film Composer of the Year (2020).
