Patrick Jonsson
London-based composer Patrick Jonsson scored the 2017 Academy Award-winning ‘The White Helmets’, earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Music. He worked again with director Orlando von Einsiedel, scoring BIFA-winning ‘Evelyn’, for which the score was picked out as one of ‘The Best Scores of 2018’ by Film School Rejects. They also collaborated in 2014 for the Academy Award and BAFTA-nominated feature documentary ‘Virunga’, executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio. And most recently released 'Cycle of Love', which premiered at Telluride in late 2025 and was the closing night film of the festival.
He has twice collaborated with director Alexandria Bombach – first on ‘Frame by Frame’ and again on ‘On Her Shoulders’. Patrick received nominations for ‘Best Documentary Score’ for both films at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. In 2022, he scored Melissa Lesh and Trevor Frost's 'Wildcat', for which he received an IDA nomination for best score. More recently, Patrick composed the original score for ‘Scrapper’, Charlotte Regan's narrative feature debut, which won the grand prize at Sundance 2023.
Then in 2026 they collaborated on the BBC1 TV series 'Mint', which marked Charlotte's debut TV series, starring Emma Laird and Loyle Carner. Earlier in the same year, 'A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough' was released on Netflix, for which Patrick wrote the score and was produced by Silverback Films, the creators of Planet Earth.
