Olivier Bernard is a French music composer.

Born in 1959, prize winning graduate for flute, solfeggio, harmony, double bass, Olivier Bernard starts his musical career with a number of personalities as diverse as Michel Portal (MP Unit), Laurent Cugny (bigband Lumière), Philippe Lejeune (Groupe de Recherches Musicales), Philippe Delevingue (Le Procédé Guimard Delaunay). He has collaborated, amongst others, with Henri Dutilleux, with the conductor André Girard, with the artistic producer and director Claude Dejacques.

He has created many disks and recordings, either as an interpreter or as an artist director. All those memorable experiences soon nourish his desire for musical writing. His passion for theater, dance and cinema naturally leads him to collaborate with many creators.

Music composer for many films amongst which Les Trois Frères 1 & 2, but also TV series such as L’instit and documentaries, he works with comedians and theater directors such as Michael Lonsdale, Patrick Rebeaud, Jean-Claude Cotillard (Moi aussi je suis Catherine Deneuve and Les Journalistes), Denis Lavant or François Morel. Park Asterix also asks him to set to music many live shows (Les Menhirs d’or, La Légion recrute, Romain vs Gaulois – le Match).

Pedagogue and defender of auteur cinema, he is a full professor at the CRR in Paris, member of World Soundtrack Award (Ghent) and of the European film academy (Berlin) presided by Wim Wenders. He is the co-author of a book about the musician Michel Frantz “30 ans de musique à la comédie Française” but also short scenarios and feature films.
