Marcus Trumpp
Born and raised in Germany in a family deeply rooted in music, Marcus Trumpp discovered his passion early on. Inspired by his grandfather, an opera singer, Marcus began studying piano as a child. But it was the magic of Wolfgang Petersen’s The NeverEnding Story that truly sparked his fascination with film music — and the extraordinary emotional power a score can bring to storytelling.
For more than two decades, Marcus Trumpp has captivated audiences worldwide with soaring melodies, pulse-pounding action cues, and hauntingly atmospheric scores across film and television. With over 100 acclaimed credits to his name, Marcus continues to shape some of Hollywood’s most exciting productions. He co-composed the scores for Netflix’s hugely successful Fear Street trilogy, which dominated streaming charts worldwide. His extensive body of work also includes Renfield, Due Justice, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Little Evil, Live Free or Die Hard, A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place Part II, The November Man, The Emperor of Paris, Love and Monsters, Plane, World War Z, and Clown in a Cornfield directed by Eli Craig.
His upcoming slate continues that momentum with the 2026 released action thriller Turbulence starring Jeremy Irvine, Kelsey Grammer and Olga Kurylenko, as well as Mutiny starring Jason Statham. Most recently, Marcus signed on to score Netflix’s Quasimodo starring Vincent Cassel.
When he’s not in the studio, Marcus enjoys cooking, traveling with his family, diving into video games, and seeking out the world’s most exhilarating roller coasters. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
