David Heymann
After receiving a Bachelor of Music with honors and a Master of Arts degree studying film scoring at the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands, David continued his studies at the UCLA Extension program with teachers such as Emmy-winning composer Charles Bernstein while also receiving the Jerry Goldsmith scholarship from BMI.
Later, music producer J2 teamed up with him to work on multiple trailer music albums. David has also collaborated with Grammy-nominated cellist Christine Kim to work on a New Age album and has written concert work for renowned clarinetist Seunghee Lee.
His work for media ranges from music preparations to orchestrations and compositions, including orchestrational work for the worldwide popular game Elder Scrolls Online, music preparations for Hollywood films such as The Smurfs, and scoring TV series and movies in China, often in collaboration with Chinese composer Nancy Li.
For the score for the documentary feature LIGHT CHASER, David received a "Best Music" Award at the "China Academy Awards for Documentary Film".
He is also the recipient of the Gil Soundtrack Award 2022, chaired by Oscar winner Alejandro Amenábar.
