Is film music always necessary to express emotions? Is it the music that evokes emotions or the film itself? These are the central questions that the film music seminar on 6 October 2006 will attempt to answer.
A good film moves the audience, there is no doubt about that. But how does music contribute to evoking emotion in the audience? Which rules apply? Is there such a formula for evoking fear, sadness and joy? How do filmmakers and film music composers deal with this?
