WSA - Film Music Seminar

Edition 2009
Following the film festival’s focus on Asian cinema, the annual Film Music Seminar looks towards the East. The seminar indulges in the sound and use of music in Chinese and Japanese cinema.
In the morning, sinologist Anne Sytske Keijser, together with curator Martine Huvenne, examines the unique sensory quality of Chinese films, and the role of music in these films. In the afternoon, special guest Shigeru Umebayashi engages in a conversation with japanologist Luk Van Haute about his work for films such as In the Mood for Love by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai and Yumeji by Japanese director Seijun Suzuki.
