During the WSA Workshops, a small group of participants embarks on a unique, musical journey with an acclaimed composer, either during a practical studio session or an interactive conversation. In this Workshop, participants get the chance to dive deeper into the working process of multi-award-winning composer and film producer Simon Franglen, who is nominated for this year’s Public Choice Award.
Franglen is a composer who blends sweeping orchestral suites, organic chorals and alien soundscapes. He recently followed on his critically acclaimed score for Avatar: The Way of Water with an expansive, highly thematic score to Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The workshops are a collaboration between Film Fest Gent and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Ghent (KASK) and are aimed at fellow composers, (film)music or sound design students and other screen music professionals, to better understand the creative bond between filmmaker and composer.
Professionals with a WSA Industry Package will be invited to register, other visitors are required to present a ticket.
