The WSA Workshops are the ideal opportunity to gain insight into the methodology and artistry of a seasoned professional. During this session, a small group of participants will have the chance to get to know the work and creative process of Paris Hurley, a composer, performer, and songwriter widely recognised for her genre-spanning sound and nominated in the category Discovery of the Year.
Hurley, a classically trained violinist, writes raw but refined scores for orchestra as well as film and television. She recently scored The Chronology of Water, the writing and directing debut of Kristen Stewart.
The workshops are a collaboration between Film Fest Gent and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Ghent (KASK) and are aimed at fellow composers, (film)music or sound design students and other screen music professionals, to better understand the creative bond between filmmaker and composer.
Professionals with a WSA Industry Package will be invited to register, other visitors are required to present a ticket.
