Edition 2008
On 20 October, the Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé, will perform the music of multiple Oscar winner John Williams. For the occasion, three choirs will vocally support the Brussels Philharmonic: the Flemish Radio Choir, the Musa Horti and the children's choir of the VLOS.
With a festive edition - this year marks the 35th edition of Film Fest Gent - comes festive music. And who better to provide it than John Williams. His scores for Indiana Jones, Star Wars, ET and so many others are not only part of the collective memory but also of our collective hearing. But alongside the party is the intimate nature of John Williams' music. Just listen to Schindler's List and Amistad. Though he joins us from afar in Los Angeles, John Williams is very much present with us tonight through his talent, spirit and art.
