Edition 2001
The festival goes dance! That’s right: on Tuesday 16 October, the International Film Festival of Flanders – Ghent is organising a one-off concert featuring the Belgian dance sensation Praga Khan. This is to mark the world premiere of Hans Herbots’ Falling, for which Praga composed the music.
Falling is the adaptation of Anne Provoost’s best-selling novel Vallen. When Lucas returns with his mother to the house of his recently deceased grandfather, a series of encounters and events confront him with the man’s dark wartime past. The film stars Lee Williams, Angela Bettis, Jill Clayburgh and Koen De Bouw. For the soundtrack, Praga Khan also managed to secure Axelle Red and StuBru presenter Roos Van Acker.
‘Falling: The Concert featuring Praga Khan and Guests’ is not just any Praga Khan concert. It features the film’s music performed live for the first time, accompanied by montages from the film, and supplemented by a few Praga Khan hits used in other films. After all, films such as Basic Instinct, Sliver, Virtuosity, Strange Days, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and What Women Want also featured songs by Praga Khan and his favourite side project, Lords of Acid.
