Edition 2006
On 19 October 2006, award-winning composer and musician Craig Armstrong will give a unique film music concert at the Flemish Opera. For the first time, the music he composed for films such as Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge and Ray will be performed by the Flemish Opera's symphony orchestra, accompanied by their choir and Armstrong on piano.
In 2001, Craig Armstrong was honoured by the World Soundtrack Academy as the first WSA Discovery of the Year, and since then he has won several important music awards. He received a Grammy for Ray, a Bafta for Romeo and Juliet, and a Golden Globe, a Bafta and an American Film Institute Award for Moulin Rouge.
The music Armstrong composed for these films will be performed live during a film music concert organised by the Ghent Film Festival on 19 October at the Flemish Opera in Ghent. The set list includes music from Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Love Actually, Cruel Intentions, Ray, The Bone Collector and The Quiet American.
