In October, Film Fest Gent 2022 brings Chromatics frontman Johnny Jewel to Ghent for a Creative Partnership talk with Belgian director Fien Troch and editor Nico Leunen. American composer Daniel Hart will also visit FFG2022 together with director David Lowery to talk about their long-standing and inseparable creative collaboration since St. Nick en Ain't Them Bodies Saints.

Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Academy announce the final wave of nominees for the prestigious World Soundtrack Awards 2022 in the categories Discovery of the Year, Public Choice Award, Best Original Score for a Belgian Production and the Sabam Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer. The list features lots of WSA newcomers, such as experimental band Son Lux, Japanese singer-songwriter Eiko Ishibashi and composer Batu Sener. Nainita Desai, Discovery of the Year 2021, continues her incredible trajectory as a possible winner of the Public Choice Award 2022. All nominees for the WSA2022 have now been revealed. The Academy also announces one winner: this year's WSA Industry Award goes to the Alliance for Women Film Composers.

The music Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé, performed was composed by five outstanding Korean composers: Cho Young-wuk, Lee Byeong-woo, Jung Jae-il (Squid Game, Parasite, Okja), Nam Hye-Seung (Mr. Sunshine), Kim Soo-chul (Sopyonje) and Mowg (Burning). Cho Young-wuk (Oldboy, The Handmaiden), the go-to composer of Park Chan-wook, and Lee Byeong-woo who worked with Bong Joon-ho on Mother and The Host will even be present at the concert themselves. Moreover, Lee Byeong-woo will play the guitar for us. It was a magical evening.
Jonny Greenwood, Nicholas Britell and Billie Eilish among the winners at 22nd World Soundtrack Awards 22 Oct 2022
Jonny Greenwood has won the Film Composer of the Year Award at the 22nd World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert on Saturday 22 October at Music Centre De Bijloke in Ghent. Nicholas Britell received the Television Composer of the Year Award. “No Time to Die” from No Time to Die was presented with the Best Original Song Award, while Drive My Car composer Eiko Ishibashi took home the Discovery of the Year Award. Joseph Metcalfe, John Coda and Grant Kirkhope were honoured with the Public Choice Award and The Penelopes composed the Best Original Score for a Belgian Production. Bruno Coulais received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
