Reema Iqbal is Senior Director in the Creative Film, TV & Visual Media department at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), Los Angeles. In this role, she is responsible for nurturing and maintaining relationships with songwriters, composers and music publishers in television, film and visual media. She also analyzes royalty payments, scouts new talent, connects songwriters and composers with potential management and educates them on the mechanics of royalties in the evolving A/V media landscape.


Iqbal also helps facilitate composer-centric opportunities at renowned industry events such as the annual BMI Snowball showcase at the Sundance Film Festival and various conferences, including the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Music Conference and Los Angeles Film Festival. She is extremely passionate about educating and supporting the emerging creative community and frequently speaks at schools of music including NYU, University of Miami, Chapman and more.


Some of the notable composers and songwriters Iqbal has worked with throughout the years are Hildur Guðnadóttir, Tamar Kali, Leighton Meester, Christina Perri, Justin Hurwitz, Aly & AJ, Rita Wilson, Doug Bossi, Carlos Rafael Rivera, and Mac Quayle. Iqbal joined BMI in 2011 as an Executive Assistant in the Film, Television and Visual Media department where her background in television production, knowledge of music supervision, and passion for music allowed her to work her way up to her current role. Prior to BMI, she was involved in television production writing for scripted shows—particularly sitcoms—at networks like CBS, ABC and FOX as well as studios like Paramount Pictures, ABC Studios and NBC Universal.
