Michelino Bisceglia is a Belgian composer, arranger, conductor, pianist and producer of Italian descent. For more than three decades, he has built an internationally acclaimed career spanning film scoring, orchestral composition and contemporary concert music.
As a film composer, Bisceglia has written the scores for numerous feature films, documentaries and television productions, including the internationally successful Netflix series Thieves of the Wood, the award-winning films Marina, Charlotte and My Sailor, My Love, as well as the worldwide touring Claude Monet Immersive Experience. His work has earned him the World Soundtrack Award – Public Choice for Marina (2014), multiple World Soundtrack Award nominations, and an International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) nomination for Breakthrough Composer of the Year.
In 2023, Bisceglia was appointed Musical Director for the celebration of the tenth anniversary of King Philippe’s reign, creating a unique orchestral recording featuring the King himself as pianist. His Trumpet Concerto, released internationally in 2025, received critical acclaim, while his score for the feature film Pacifica premiered the same year. He is currently composing the score for the four-part documentary series Immigration Union and will begin work later this year on the score for the latest feature film by the Academy nominated Belgian director Stijn Coninx.
As a conductor, Bisceglia has collaborated with leading orchestras including Brussels Philharmonic, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto – Casa da Música, the Hungarian Studio Orchestra, Galaxy Studio Orchestra and The Japan Symfonia. He has also served as Musical Director for several major national and international events, including the 175 Years of Belgium celebrations, the opening ceremony of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union (2010), and the Special Olympics European Summer Games (2014).
In addition to his artistic career, Bisceglia is co-founder and Vice President of the Belgian Screen Composers Guild and has been Professor of Jazz-Composition, Orchestration and Film Music at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel since 2018.
