Marie-Anne Fischer is an accomplished composer with a dynamic and versatile career; spanning multiple continents and genres.
Her media music journey began in South Africa, where she collaborated with a post-production sound engineer to create music for SABC television, corporate videos, and wildlife documentaries. This initial experience laid the foundation for her diverse career in music composition.

Relocating to England, via the United States, her music career flourished across various media, including film, television, and Role playing games. Notable work includes scoring the award-winning feature documentary ‘I Am Belmaya', directed by Sue Carpenter and Belmaya Nepali. The soundtrack was featured in Mark Kermode's 'Best Movie Music of 2021'
list.

Marie-Anne’s music spans a broad range of styles and genres has been published by esteemed labels such as The Library of the Human Soul, Gothic Storm Music, Minim, Lovely Music, Music Sculptor GmbH, Audio Attack and Synctracks. A significant portion of the her string music was recorded by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Vienna Session Orchestra. Her work has been broadcast globally on platforms such as Netflix, Disney Channel (FR), NBA TV, BBC, SABC, TF1, Canal+, The History Channel, CBS Drama, MTV, National Geographic, and Discovery.

Marie-Anne is a member of the Sonokinetic and Soundiron teams, where she has scored promotional videos and created demos for various music software companies. Marie-Anne’s commitment to ongoing education is demonstrated through her completion of a Diploma in Media Music Composition and Cinematic Orchestration from ThinkSpace Education.

Marie-Anne is a voting member of PRS, member of Belgian Screen Composers Guild and a participant in Women in Film & Television (WFTV) and the Alliance of Women Film Composers (AWFC). Based in Bruges, Marie-Anne works from her studio and enjoys exploring photography, filmmaking, pottery, and spending time in nature. Fluent in English, Dutch, Afrikaans, and conversational French, she continues to draw inspiration from a rich tapestry of global experiences in her creative endeavours.
