Joff Winks
Joff Winks is a UK-based composer, musician, and soundtrack artist specialising in cinematic music for narrative-driven video games. He studied with Berklee College of Music, focusing on composition for film and television, orchestration, and world music, and creates emotionally resonant scores that blend intimate instrumentation, atmospheric sound design, and a deep focus on storytelling.
His score for the narrative adventure game Arctic Awakening has been widely praised for its emotional depth, with Miles Thompson of Finger Guns describing it as “stunning… emotionally evocative and deeply introspective.” It was also featured as part of the Save & Sound Festival, celebrating excellence in video game music.
Alongside his work in games, Joff is the founding member, vocalist, and guitarist of the progressive rock band Sanguine Hum, with whom he has released six critically acclaimed albums. Sanguine Hum’s 2015 album Now We Have Light was described as “a masterpiece” by John Kelman in All About Jazz.
Working from his studio in Oxfordshire, England, Joff collaborates with independent developers worldwide, crafting bespoke scores for games that value atmosphere, emotional storytelling, and artistic identity.
