Federico Jusid is an award winning and Emmy & BAFTA nominated composer who uses his passion for the concert hall to influence his compositions for film and television.

Born in Buenos Aires, Federico has Spanish citizenship and resides between Los Angeles and Madrid. As the son of renowned Argentine film director Juan José Jusid and actress Luisina Brando he grew up among stages and film sets. His passion for music and cinema soon led his career as a film music composer having now scored more than sixty feature films and thirty television series.

Federico has recently composed the score for Hugo Blick’s The English [Amazon/BBC] an internationally acclaimed western drama series starring Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer for which he has been nominated for a BAFTA for Best Score: Fiction and IFMCA Award for Best Series’ Original Score as well as being Indiewire’s Best TV Score 2022.

Federico’s earlier film scores include the Award winning film The Secret In Their Eyes as well as Neruda, Loving Pablo, Misconduct, Kidnap and 7 Years, the last of which he was also Executive Producer with the theatrical version recently premiering in Spain, France, Greece, Argentina and Mexico. He has more recently scored the films Cross The Line, El verano que vivimos, Life Itself, A Twelve-Year Night and the BBC and Netflix animated miniseries Watership Down which was nominated for an Emmy Award.

Federico’s concert hall compositions including Tango Rhapsody, Kinetic Overture and Bidaia have been performed worldwide by orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic for the Hollywood Bowl, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires and the RTVE Orchestra at the Monumental Theatre of Madrid. As a pianist and conductor he has performed as soloist in some of the most recognised concert halls in the world including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Colón Theater in Buenos Aires, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra House of Tel Aviv and the National Auditorium of Madrid. He has toured throughout Europe and Asia performing repertoire as well as his own compositions and was resident composer and pianist for the Sonor Ensemble for over 10 years.
