Agata Grabowiecka

Agata Grabowieckais a cultural manager and creative producer, specialising in film-music curation, international partnerships and large-scale event production. She serves as Artistic Director of the Krakow Film Music Festival, one of the world’s leading celebrations of music for film and visual media, where she has been co-shaping its’ artistic vision since the festival’s second edition — collaborating closely with major composers including Elliot Goldenthal, Howard Shore and Alexandre Desplat. She develops partnerships across the creative industries, city-brand ecosystems and cultural diplomacy networks to enable ambitious premieres and innovative concert formats on a global stage. She also commissions new music for concert performance, supporting composers in creating film-music suites adapted for live experience.

She previously served as General Director of Sinfonietta Cracovia, the Royal Capital City Orchestra of Kraków (2021–2025), where she oversaw international touring and led projects promoting Polish musical heritage abroad, including film-music productions in major cultural centres such as New York, London, Madrid, Porto, Amsterdam and Tenerife. She enhanced the orchestra’s artistic independence through pioneering audience-experience strategies.

Before that, she headed the music programming team at the Krakow Festival Office, overseeing the programme development and production delivery of internationally recognised festivals including FMF, Misteria Paschalia, Opera Rara and Sacrum Profanum. She coordinated international collaborations, artist relations and multi-stakeholder partnerships that shaped Kraków’s reputation as one of Europe’s key music-festival hubs.

Agata is driven by a vision of expanding global opportunities for film-music collaboration and developing new formats that elevate the role of music in contemporary visual culture. She received the Honoris Gratia Medal from the Mayor of Kraków for her contribution to the city’s international cultural presence.
