The WSAwards Industry Day (18 Oct) is an annual networking event where both young and established international film (music) professionals can learn, debate and socialize.

This year’s programme is fully booked with masterclasses and panels covering a wide range of topics by numerous professionals from different fields in the film music industry. Take a look at the schedule of the WSA Industry Day (18 October, Vooruit, Gent):

Morning (9h – 12h):

  • Masterclass: What does an orchestrator actually do?
    by Matt Dunkley
  • Masterclass: Main title theme music and the art of building a show’s audio ID in a short amount of time
    by Dave Porter (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Preacher)

Lunch (12h – 13.30h):

  • Possibility to network
  • Sandwiches (also vegetarian option)

Afternoon (13.30h – 17h):

  • Panel on career development
    with Terence Blanchard, Dustin O’Halloran, Hauschka and Joe Kraemer
    Moderated by Doreen Ringer-Ross
  • Panel: Share of Music within Production Budgets
    with Belgian producer Dries Phlypo, Dan Jones, Michel Bisceglia and others
    Moderated by music supervisor Milena Fessmann
  • Panel on communication between filmmaker & composer
    with Patrick Lemmens, Rupert Gregson-Williams, Michael Abels, Lukas Dhont and Valentin Hadjadj
    Moderated by artistic director Patrick Duynslaegher
  • Infosession on tax sheltering opportunities for scoring in Belgium

Networking drink 17h – 18h):

  • Possibility to network
  • Free drinks

Informal meetings and time to chat are reserved for during the lunch break and after the panels while having a drink at the Foyer.
