WSA - Film Music Seminar

Edition 2014
The common thread throughout this annual seminar, organized in collaboration with the School of Arts, is French cinema. Surrealism, Nouvelle Vague, Besson's Cinema-du-look, poetic realism... What makes this French cinema and its film music so unique?
One thing is certain: there is plenty to discuss.
The 41st Film Fest Ghent's focus on Cinéma Français is also extended to the Film Music Seminar. French author, screenwriter and critic Thierry Jousse gives a general introduction to the history of music in French Cinema in the morning. In the afternoon, theory is turned into practice with award-winning film music composers Bruno Coulais (Coraline, Les Choristes, Mon Pire cauchemar) and Philippe Sarde (Tess and Les Choses de la vie). Curator on duty is Martine Huvenne.
