On Tuesday 16 October 2018, Film Fest Gent and School of Arts Gent (Belgium) organise a new edition of the Film Music Seminar that focuses on artistic collaboration between filmmaker, composer and sound designer. This year, we have the privilege of welcoming Carter Burwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; Hail, Caesar!) and Skip Lievsay (Gravity, Silence of the Lambs) to discuss their collaboration, the changes and development during their collaborative and personal careers and their view on the importance and impact of sound and music in film. Composer Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk) has been added to the line-up. He will discuss his collaboration with directors Barry Jenkins and Natalie Portman, his musical adaptations of sounds and how he focuses on the inner self of actors.
Moderated by Dr Martine Huvenne (professor at School of Arts Gent and coordinator of EPAS).
