Students at the WSA Film Music Days
Anyone who wants to make it in show business knows how important it is to keep your finger on the pulse. Film music is no different. Therefore, Film Fest Gent presents its WSA Film Music Days as a platform to exchange ideas and keep up to date. Join us for the WSA Film Music Days and experience the best of film music during our symphonic film music concerts and indulge in numerous talks, panel discussions and creative partnerships. As such, you get a glimpse behind the scenes of the film music industry.
What are the WSA Film Music Days?
In short, there are two parts to the WSA Film Music Days. On the one hand, there are the concerts. Live music is a crucial part of Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Awards. That's why the festival organises concerts in which film music is allowed to be the protagonist. Discover the World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert and our yearly film music concerts and the Videodroom concerts, that are the fruit of the collaboration between Film Fest Gent and VIERNULVIER.
On the other hand, there are the WSA talks and masterclasses. These networking events are for both young and established international film (music) professionals to gain insight into new developments, to be part of inspiring discussions and to meet colleagues in the field. The yearly gathering of composers, directors, producers, sound professionals, sound designers, and students in the area of cinema and television is the ideal opportunity to celebrate the art of film music, network, learn and scrutinize the current state of the industry. Enjoy three days of film music, talks, creative partnerships and more.
For students especially this can be a great opportunity to make new connections and broaden horizons. Usually one day specifically is tailored to students: a unique industry programme targeted towards future film & film music professionals. Our panel discussion, composer's talk and matchmaking give students the opportunity to learn, listen and network.

Student Matchmaking
Apart from access to the talks and masterclasses in our Industry Programme, students can sign up to a student-only matchmaking event. Based on their profiles, we match (film) music students to film students. This way, we hope to help give wings to new projects. As this matchmaking is tailored to each student, it's necessary that students sign up before the 30th of September.
Are you a film student or a (film) music student and would you like to join us in October 2023? We will put up the subscription form online early 2023.

Are you a film student who can't get enough?
As a filmstudent of KASK, LUCA School of Arts C-mine, LUCA School of Arts Narafi, LUCA School of Arts Sint-Lukas or RITCS you can apply for an accreditation for the whole festival. For €25 you have - besides access to press screenings - also access to our film (music) industry activities. You can apply from mid september 2023 through your personal MyFFG-account.
