Students at the Film Music Days
In October Gent each year forms the stage for the WSA Film Music Days. International film (music) professionals will gather for talks, masterclasses, workshops, concerten and more. Film Fest Gent wants to also give film (music) students and game development students the opportunity to learn, listen and network.
During the WSA Film Music Days students are invited to come together for a unique programme, especially targeted towards future film & film music professionals.

Composition Contest
Young composers have the golden opportunity to compete in our annual WSA Film Music Composition Contest. The three finalists are invited to all film music events at Film Fest Gent. Their compositions are performed live in world premiere at the World Soundtrack Awards by Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé, after which the winner receives the Sabam Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer.

European Postgraduate in Arts in Sound
EPAS is a one-year intensive course in the creative potential of sound both in itself and as part of a multi media practice. The curriculum emphasises the development of creative practice alongside technical craft. EPAS is the shortened version of a planned but postponed two-year MA in Sound, with a certificate as the outcome. The international programme is organised by KASK School of Arts and the Netherlands Film Academy among others. Festival International du Film d'Aubagne and Film Fest Gent are associated partners of the EPAS consortium.
