Michael Todd is the AVP of the Film & Television / Visual Media Dept. in ASCAP’s Membership Group. ASCAP is a Performing Rights Organization (PRO) for almost 1 million songwriters, composers and publisher members. Founded and governed by its members since 1914, ASCAP is the only PRO in the United States that is a not-for-profit, membership organization.

With 25+ years film & television music industry leadership, Todd is a visionary for composer/songwriter growth and a passionate advocate who has championed the creative community at all career levels. A skilled professional musician himself, he has a proven innate ability to spot emerging talent, driving a number of ASCAP’s impactful signings and fostering professional relationships for many highly regarded composers’ careers.

Todd has produced flagship programs like the revered ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop (LA), Panels & Sessions for the “I Create Music” Expo rebranded as the “ASCAP Experience,” educational master sessions for a number of prestigious University Music Programs and International Film Music Festivals as well as the music production & live music for the ASCAP Screen Music Awards.

Todd’s influence also extends globally, advising various European film music festivals, notably the World Soundtrack Awards & Krakow’s FMF and serves locally as a Songwriters Hall of Fame West Coast Events Committee member, and board member for the LA Jazz Society and AIMP LA Chapter.

Todd has contributed to the Professional Development committee as well as the Grammy Next mentor program for the Recording Academy LA Chapter. Todd holds a BA in Studio Music & Jazz Performance (Saxophone)/ Dean’s list (1990) from the University of Miami.
