Dear WSAcademy member,

This is our first Academy newsletter where we happily share news from our WSAcademy community with you. We are excited to present you your personal WSA profile page and inform you about the upcoming WSA submission process. Have a look at the different items here below and don't forget to mark your calendars for our WSA Music Days in Ghent from 20 to 22 October 2022. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Discover your personal WSA profile page

From now on, every Academy member has their own profile page on the WSA website. Please look for your personal page here and check if the information is correct. If you would like to change anything on your personal page, please notify us through this form (make sure you are logged in to your MyFFG account to have access to the form).

Submissions open from 15 April

As an Academy member, you will again have the opportunity to submit scores for the WSAwards. Here are the most important facts you should know about the submissions:

  • Submissions will be open from 15 April until 15 June 2022.
  • To submit you will have to log in to your MyFFG account. All submission forms will be available on the WSA tab in your personal MyFFG account.
  • Academy members can submit scores for 4 categories: Film Composer of the Year, Television Composer of the Year, Best Original Song and the Discovery Award.
  • New this year: composers that are Academy members and eligible for the Discovery of the Year Award won’t have to pay the registration fee.
  • To check all eligibility rules, please download the 2022 WSA rule book here.
Membership renewal

If you have not yet renewed your membership, you should have received a mail in your inbox with information on how to do so. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our music project coordinator Sophie at sophie@filmfestival.be.

Do you have any contacts that might be interested in joining the WSAcademy? Please feel free to forward this newsletter to them. WSA Film Music Composition Contest 2022 social
WSA Composition Contest

Our annual Composition Contest is now launched. Screen composers under the age of 36 are invited to write a score for a scene from Nosferatu, Murnau’s timeless classic which celebrates its 100th birthday. Don't hesitate to send the website with further information through to young composers that might be interested in participating.
