The World Soundtrack Awards stand among the most prestigious events in film music worldwide, honouring both established and emerging voices in screen composition. The nominees in the categories of Discovery of the Year Award, Public Choice Award, WSA Game Music Award, and Belgian Film Composer of the Year (Powered by Sabam) have now been announced. Daniel Blumberg, already shortlisted in the category of Film Composer of the Year, secures a second nomination, while promising newcomers like Hania Rani and Laetitia Pansanel-Garric break new ground. Vincent Cahay, Ruben De Gheselle, and Frédéric Vercheval convene as nominees for the Belgian Film Composer of the Year category. The winners will be awarded during the WSA Ceremony and Concert.

Encompassing the Ceremony and Concert, the WSA Film Music Days (14-16 October) once again turn Ghent into a meeting place for composers and industry professionals to reflect on the art, craft and future of music for screen. The three-day programme is packed with concerts, talks, and panels, with headline appearances by Debbie Wiseman, Martin Phipps, Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch and the Composers Diversity Collective. On top of that, there will be a workshop programme, which will be announced soon.
