We are happy to share the news with all of you that 2 of our WSAcademy members will be honoured with a WSAward during the upcoming WSA Film Music Days (15 - 17 Oct). You can read all about it in this WSAcademy newsletter.

We also want to thank you for all the submissions that we have received until now. As an Academy member you can still submit until 15 June in the categories: Film Composer of the Year, Television Composer of the Year, Best Original Song and WSA Game Music Award. Submissions for the Discovery of the Year are open for composers regardless of WSAcademy membership.

Your membership renewal for 2024

We noticed that you did not have the chance yet to renew your WSAcademy membership for 2024. If you are interested in doing so and have again access to the WSA tabs in your MyFFG account to be able to submit and vote, please register by logging in to your personal MyFFG account, fill in this form and pay the membership fee. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at info@worldsoundtrackawards.com.

Elliot Goldenthal receives Lifetime Achievement Award

During the 24th World Soundtrack Awards, American composer Elliot Goldenthal will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award! Goldenthal’s career encompasses a rich variety of film scores, such as the extraordinary score for Frida (2002), which won an Oscar, Golden Globe and two WSAwards. Other notable scores include Interview with the Vampire (1994), Batman Forever (1995), Titus(1999) and Across the Universe (2007). Goldenthal will be presented his award on 16 October, at Muziekcentrum De Bijloke in Ghent.

The WSA Industry Award 2024 goes to Maggie Rodford

We are happy to announce that Maggie Rodford is presented an Industry Award at the upcoming edition of the World Soundtrack Awards! Rodford represents composers worldwide as the Managing Director of the Air-Edel group. Before, she worked at the BBC and EMI. As a music producer, co-ordinator and supervisor, she worked on high profile film scores, such as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), The King's Speech (2010), Anna Karenina (2012) and Cinderella (2015). The Award will be presented on Tuesday evening 15 October during the Nominees Celebration (exclusive for Academy members and Industry Packages).
