World Soundtrack Awards Gala & Concert

Film Fest Gent brings the cream of the international film music crop together in Gent again for the 22nd World Soundtrack Awards. The festival is delighted to announce Mark Isham as guest of honour. The Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by maestro Dirk Brossé, will play a selection of works by Mark Isham, Bruno Coulais and by Nainita Desai (winner of the Discovery of the Year Award 2021) during the presentation of the film music awards.

The spotlight will be put on Korean film music in the unique concert Korean Composers. Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Maestro Dirk Brossé, will perform music by Cho Young-wuk (Oldboy, The Handmaiden), the go-to composer of Park Chan-wook, and Lee Byeong-woo who worked with Bong Joon-ho on Mother and The Host. Both composers will be present at the concert. The music of Jung Jae-il for Parasite and Squid Game will be performed live.
Album Release & Listening Session: Evgueni Galperine’s Theory of Becoming

Evgueni Galperine will present his new album Theory of Becoming at Film Fest Gent. Galperine asked four filmmakers to make images to his music, enriching this unique creation with visuals and creating an immersive experience. The album release and video showing will happen exclusively during the listening session at Film Fest Gent.
VIDEODROOM is the annual creative dream date between Film Fest Gent and Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER. It can best be described as a quirky mix of eclectic music and cult cinema. From 12 October to 22 October, unique audiovisual performances and newly composed scores to obscure films will be presented. VIDEODROOM 2022 will be a thrilling alternative trip through the nights of Film Fest Gent.
