Hans Helewaut for 'Cafard'

This animation film by director Jan Bultheel takes place in August 1914. While Jean Mordant is away winning the title of World Wrestling Champion in Buenos Aires, his daughter Mimi is raped by German occupiers in Ostend. Jean swears he will avenge this immoral disgrace. Hans Helewaut had worked for ten years in the audio visual industry before he decided to focus on author driven feature films, animations and documentaries.

Hendrik Willemyns for 'D'Ardennen'

Hendrik Willemyns took care of the dark, electrical score of the uncut Belgian noir 'D'Ardennen'. When a brutal home jacking goes wrong, Dave, one of the two robbers, manages to run off leaving his brother Kenneth behind. Four years later, Kenneth is released from prison but a lot has changed over time. This dark thriller is not suitable for viewers who can't take a little bloodshed...

Soulwax for 'Belgica'

The brothers Dewaele (aka: 2manydjs) changed the face of dance mix compilations forever, simply by splicing hundreds of rock, electro, dance and hip hop together. The soundtrack of 'Belgica', a film about the early days of an existing club in Ghent (Charlatan), is entirely written and produced by Soulwax although their name is nowhere to be found on the tracklist. Other, fictional bands were asked to play Soulwax' songs live on stage while the camera was rolling.

The international World Soundtrack Advisory Board will reveal the winner during the annual World Soundtrack Awards Gala on 19 October in Capitole. Tickets are still available here.
