Traditions have to be honoured. That is why the Ghent Film Festival is organising once again a film music seminar. The World Soundtrack Academy attaches great importance to the seminar and therefore selects every year somebody from its own members. That is why participants can be sure to meet a legendary composer. This year Stephen Warbeck will answer every question about the impact of music on the film, the narrative and the spectator. Warbeck has written the music for a.o. Shakespeare in Love (1998) (Academy Award), Billy Elliott (2000) and Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001). He started his career as an actor and plays the accordion in his own group, The Kippers. As a composer of film music he knows perfectly how to interweave his own creativity with the narrative structure of the director. The film music seminar takes place on October 20th at the Zwarte Zaal of KASK from 10 am to 4 pm. The subscriptions for the film music seminar are closed.
