The panel talk on composer diversity will appear online on 24 October
During the WSA Panel Talks on 24 October, our WSA guests will go into detail about the most relevant issues in today's film music industry. On the programme are the following three panel discussions. Join us and get insight into the work and thoughts of these composers for screen!
- Moderated by Patrick Duynslaegher, the first talk features WSA nominees Alfonso G. Aguilar (Klaus), Dascha Dauenhauer (Berlin Alexanderplatz) and Hannes De Maeyer (U-235) on "standing out as an artist with an original voice and finding work in the contemporary film music industry".
- Sabam for Culture chairman Jan Hautekiet will also go in conversation with Hannes De Maeyer, who has been nominated for two WSAwards this year, on "combining electronic and orchestral elements in scoring for screen". During this masterclass talk, they will discuss Hannes's work on Gangsta (Patser) and his most recent score for The Racer.
- In addition to the above live discussions, we will screen a prerecorded panel talk on "composer diversity" with Michael Abels (2019 Discovery of the Year), Diego, Nora & Lionel Baldenweg, Nainita Desai and Lolita Ritmanis (2020 WSA nominee for Public Choice), moderated by Milena Fessmann.
