Sound and Vision

Midge Costin, 'Armageddon' and 'Days of Thunder's sound mechanic makes her directorial debut with this documentary about the creation of a film's sound. Building a film's sound system is a much more complicated process than might meet the eye, or ear. The three main blocks - voice, sound effects and music - need to be brought together into a perfect balance. Additionally, the history of cinematic sound is touched upon in Costin's documentary.
