Doreen Ringer-Ross is an independent film/tv music specialist focusing on career development for composers. She is also Vice Chairman of the Board of the Mr Holland's Opus Foundation and she’s an active member of the Advisory Board for the American Youth Symphony. 

Previously she was VP Film, TV & Visual Media Relations at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) for over 30 years.  During her tenure, she established key programs for composers including the Sundance Film Music and Sound Design Lab, BMI’s Film/TV Composers Conducting Workshop, the Earle Hagen Film Scoring Workshop, and Rick Baitz’s Composing for the Screen mentorship program. She oversaw film scoring scholarships at USC, UCLA and Berklee College of Music, and has created artist development platforms with the Sundance Film Festival, the IFP Filmmaker Labs, the IFP Filmmakers Conference, the SXSW Film Festival, and the Woodstock Film Festival. 

Her additions to BMI’s industry-leading roster of composers include Harry Gregson-Williams, Alexandre Desplat, Alan Silvestri, Terence Blanchard, Rachel Portman, Christopher Young, David Arnold, Tamar-kali, Stewart Copeland, Mychael Danna, Rolfe Kent, George S. Prior to joining BMI she held artist development positions at A&M Records, ABC Records, MCA Records and she worked as a producer for a wide array of television programs.
