Joep (Joseph) Sporck (1985) is a Dutch composer of music for films, TV and other media based in Los Angeles. He studied at the Utrecht School of the Arts and at the Maastricht Academy of Music. In his third year of education (2010), Joep, together with his colleague Maarten Spruijt, scored his first Dutch/Belgium feature film. In the following years he scored another 3 feature films by himself.

In 2016 Joep has won the Young Talent Award at the Film Music Festival Krakow, Poland. A cue from the animation “Shrek Forever After” was re-scored, orchestrated, and performed by an orchestra during the Gala of the festival. The award was presented by one of the jury members, Harry Gregson-Williams: “In recognition of his extraordinary musical cue that captures the overall dramatic arch of the animated sequence while also elegantly complimenting its many shifts of perspective and emotion.”

In addition to music for films, he also writes music for commercials and television, conducts, arranges music for musicals and works as a music teacher.

Joep plays a great many different kinds of instruments such as piano, guitar, bass, drums, accordion, mandolin, ukulele and some ethnic woodwinds.

He received an honorable mention in the Young Talent Award Competition at the Transatlantyk Film Festival in 2014 in Poznan, Poland. He won the third prize at the FMF Young Talent Award 2014 in Krakow, Poland. In this competition he scored the Bioschock Infinite trailer by composer Garry Schyman, who was also a member of the jury.

Since 2010 Joep has been a member of the ProjectSAM team. This company produces Orchestral Sample Libraries for film, TV and game composers. Some of the libraries he worked on are Symphobia 2, Symphobia 3 Lumina, Orchestral Essentials 1&2 and Swing!. His work at ProjectSAM consists of composing demos, arranging, orchestrating, editing and programming. 

His most recent Trailer placements can be hear in: Incredibles 2 (Disney-Pixar), The Nutcracker and the 4 Realms (Disney), Dumbo (Disney).
