Jonathan Galland is a French music composer, currently established both in San Francisco,
California and Paris, France.
His work for motion pictures (ranging from feature-length documentary, to animated shorts
and music for advertisements) has received to this day over seventy international music
awards, including "Best Composer" awards, "Critics Choice" awards, "Outstanding
Achievement" awards, and "Award of Excellence" accolades, as well as specialty awards
such as "Best Orchestration for an Animated Short", "Best Song Music Production", "Best
Trailer Arrangement" and “Soundtrack of the Year”. These various accolades were
received from the United States, Canada, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, Italy, France,
Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Turkey, India, the Phillippines, Japan, and
Galland’s music has been discussed on various podcasts, and has been mentioned in trade
publications such as Music Connection magazine. His soundtrack for "The Ribbon" has
also received in-depth reviews and analysis on film music blogs. Aside from been
distributed worldwide through today’s biggest commercial download platforms such as
Apple Music and Amazon, Galland’s music can be heard on internet radios such as
Classically trained since the age of six as a violinist and through the French music schools,
Galland progressively developed a passion for writing music to motion pictures. He
completed his MFA in Music Production and Sound Design for Visual Media, with an
emphasis on Film Scoring at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA.
Galland is affiliated to SOCAN as well as the National Academy of Recording Arts and
Sciences (known for the Grammy Awards), and is an approved submitter to the Academy
Awards. Jonathan Galland has also been a voting member of the Canadian Academy of
Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and has served for several years on the judges panel
for the prestigious JUNO Awards in Canada.
Jonathan Galland is currently writing the original music for an upcoming figure skating
show by Ice Dance International. Tours are set to begin in the Summer of 2021.
