With versatile ability in music, sometimes called the “Godfather of Pop and Cross-over Music” performer artist in S.E Asia
First established in HK Since 1970, then allocated to Taiwan and in 1994, moved to Beijing IN 2007, allocated back to HONGKONG 2011.
Since the mid 80’s Chris has been releasing his own Chinese Cross Over instrumental albums, such as “Beijing Pop (1994)”, (1995)“Spell of Love – Shirley Lu, Pipa Album (1996)”, “Er Hu Album by Wen Jin Long”.
Late 90’s relocated from Hong Kong to Taiwan and established himself in the Taiwan Mandarin market as PRODUCER. Over these 13 years, Chris collaborated with most of the pop singers in Taiwan, such as CoCo Lee, Cai Qin, Elva Hsiao and Many more individual Artists.
The theme song (Xin Bu Liao Qing) for the movie “Ces't la Vie, Mon Cheri” is considered to be one of the most popular songs in the history of Taiwan and the Chinese Popular songs’ Category since 1993 and is now being his signature tune.
Between 2006 and 2008 wrote 2 original Ballets & 6 Original Musicals. The Ballets are: “Suzie Wong” performed in HK in 2006. The Ballet is based on the famous story of "Suzie Wong" composed, orchestrated and conducted a 50 piece orchestra.
The second modern ballet "VOYAGES" for the Suzhou Cultural Science centre in Suzhou China in 2008 February, directed by Mr. Stephen Jeffries who was the Artistic Director for the Hongkong Ballet in Hongkong.
The 6 Original Musical plays are, “Long River” – It was in a Chinese Traditional “Huang Mei Tiao” style musical performed in Shanghai Grand Theatre in 2008, this musical is produced by Yu Qiu Yu, and performed by “The Queen of Huang Mei Tiao” – Ms. Ma Lan; the other 4 musicals were being wrote for Godot Theatre Company in Taiwan, “The Little Town In DanShui”, “Shanghai Night” & “Angel Never Sleep” – which were performed by Cai Qin in 1999 & 2002; “City Nights”.
Chris was the Music Director of the celebration ceremony for the establishment of the HKSAR (the “Change Over”). It was considered to be recognition to his professional success as well as his continuous contributions to the music industry.
Chris wrote the 2008 Olympics Official “Torch Song” - “Light the Passion, Share the Dream” and also wrote “VISION BEIJING” cinematic event in 2008 which was directed by the famous Italian Director – Giuseppe Tornatore, other directors including Majid Majidi, Patrice Leconte, Daryl Goodrich & Andrew Lau Wai-Keung.
In 2012, released “Hi Quality Audiophile albums with two HK Divas – Chris & Friends with Elisa “Everything Must Change” and Frances Yip, Chris with Frances “The Music & The Voice”. In March 2011, Chris was invited by Phoenix TV as the Music Director for their 15th Anniversary Gala Evening Event. Chris collaborated with the China Ballet Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2018, invited by CCTV and appointed as Music Director.
In 2015, invited as Music Director, Conductor, pianist and Arranger/Orchestrator of “Alan Tam celebrating the 40th anniversary concert”, rearrange all the songs with Orchestral, and led more than 30 musicians to participate in the performance.
In 2019, participate the CCTV program “Jing Dian Yong Liu Chuan”; Compose and Produce Soundtrack music for the movie “Xi Bao”
In 2018, Beijing Culture & Media Co. Ltd. invited to write the soundtrack music for the documentary “He Xi Zou Lang Zhi Jia Yu Guan”.
In 2017, The Hong Kong Musical “Feng Wan Show”.
Taiwan Musical “Love Ya Mom” by Godot Theatre Taiwan which has been performed at the National Theatre & Concert Hall and all over Taiwan.
Additional performances to be performed in Shanghai in 2018 and will be performing again in Taiwan National Theatre & Concert Hall in March 2018.
In 2016, “Dr. Sun Yat Sen” Theme song and Soundtrack music for the documentary by CCTV
Theme Title songs sung by Miss Frances Yip and Soundtrack for an International Film entitled “The Last Race”.
June 2015 wrote a “Rock Musical” Shan Hai Jin sponsored by Taiwan University in Taiwan.
Performed replays twice all over Taiwan in 2015, and performed in China Xi An in December 2017.
